Jeremy Welch - Constructor and Driver
Driver Profile
Jeremy lives in Hoar Cross, Staffordshire with wife Melanie and two other gorgeous girls, his daughters. His family life is dominated by a very successful but consuming Motorsport business, thankfully Melanie is a resourceful and patient wife.
After graduating he put his natural engineering talent to work with Judd Formula One, and then progressed to working in the family business, eventually heading it up a couple of years ago.
He has always competed in Motorsport with Sports Racing cars and Sports cars, and built his first complete car in his late teens.
He part of a motor sport dynasty that stretches back to the very start of motoring in the UK. His grand father set up Brooke Motors and was the first to manufacture a 6-cylinder engine even before Rolls Royce.
The Welch family are no strangers to achievement on the World record stage. Their involvement dates back to 1906 and achievements have included the World Water Speed Record with a boat called ‘Bulldog’, The European FIA championships with their own Healey also the rebuilding of the 1965 Le Mans Austin Healey sprite and its sister car, plus building cars for such luminaries as Stirling Moss and Mark Knopfler.
He brings a wealth of experience and engineering ability to this Endurance project and is probably one of the few men alive that have the pedigree to make this attempt personally as a driver and technically bringing to bear the engineering experience and problem solving capabilities that are required to lead such an attempt.
